    windows explorer (windows xp home)

    i cannot open printers and faxes in my control panel. it gives me "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." i get the same message when i try to print to my canon multipass f30/printing does work /it also clears out my program tray on my start bar( the tray next to the clock) any suggestions on how to solve this problem

    It sounds like a printer installation problem or a bad printer driver. A print/printer driver is a program written by the manufacturer, in this case Canon, to control the communication between the hardware (F30 printer) and the software (Windows XP) Operating System.

    First of all, if you don't have it, download the latest driver for WinXP from <A target="_blank" HREF="http://www.usa.canon.com/html/conCprDriversTypeSystemV2.jsp?minisite=10000&type= Software&prodref=PS&subtype=Software&group_id=-1&level2catq=AllCats&item=111&modelid=6630
