    MS Contacts (Office2000)

I have several MS products, from OS to Office, Visio, etal. I receive about 6 different e-mail, newsletters, etc from MS. I have searched their so-called customer support to change the e-mail address from one that was trashed to a new valid one. I can find nothing except the links on individual e-mails that allow stop this one or all MS correspondence. Absolutely no way to send one, or any, UDATE for the original address to a new one???? I'm about ready to just junk the whole relationship, except I do want to keep up to date on what their current version of what's happening. Does anyone know how to make this easier?
    Thanks!

    Hi Gloria:
While I'm not sure which newsletters you're referring to, then normal way to "change" a subscription is to stop the subscription for one email address and to start it for another. Some sites allow you to stop several publications at a time and to start several at a time. However, I'm not aware of any that allow changing it the way you would with a magazine.

Part of your frustration is that they moved the whole subscription to Passport, but people subscribed prior to that don't have a good way of cleaning up when their email changes. I finally created a new userid based on my current email address, and then the whole process works pretty well. You can subscribe and unsubscribe at a single location. But you have to sign up for Passport first. The address to get started is http://register.microsoft.com/regsys/pic.asp?lcid=1033.

Thanks guys! That makes a lot of sense, Wendell. You come through yet again! I'm not thrilled with Passport. I wonder if its the reason some of my little old ladies on Internet appliances are having fits trying to keep up with the e-mail protocol changes? They're on WinCE on those devices and since about last November I have been spending quite a bit of time with tech support on their behalf. The first level support is getting younger and more naive, it seems. I'm always waiting for them to come back from a more senior advisor!
    Thanks again!
    Gloria
