outlook today

I moved my .pst file to a more convenient place for backup and when I opened outlook my Outlook today screen was gone. So I moved the file back to original spot and opened Outlook again. Outlook Today is still gone and frankly I miss it. Please help

    Re: outlook today

Not really answering kwir1's question, but the appearance (the look and feel) of Outlook Today is governed by an obscure .HTM file (mine is <font color=blue>drive:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice1033outlwvw.dll/outlook.htm</font color=blue>). Is it possible to edit this markup file to use Frames () so that the regular Outlook Today appears in the top half and, say, a corporate home page or news web site appears in the bottom half? I can set the frames so that they display two different web sites, but I can't get the original Outlook today to appear properly.

    yes and no

outlook today uses a subset of IE for html rendering, you need to edit the registry to allow the full ie engine to be used. (it's a security measure) see the ORK toolbox at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.officeupdate.com>http://www.officeupdate.com</A> for the key you need to edit.

folder homepages use less restrictive security and is recommended instead of lowering security of OT.

you can also use the digital dashboard concept for outlook today. the new dashboard kit requires win2k, the old one does not but is only available on msdn.

the addy for the OT info is <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/appndx/toolbox.htm#outtoday>here</A>
