Corel Products

I love Woody's Lounge. Is there a similar site for Corel products like WordPerfect and QuattroPro?

I don't think you'll ever find a site which compares to Woody's Lounge, but hey, that's just me..

The closest I could find is www.dogpile.com or www.profusion.com and do a search for Corel Forums.. Maybe you'll find what you're looking for! Hope that helps!

Woody's convention?

Having worked with both Microsoft and Corel stuff, I can honestly say there is good and bad about both. And don't forget, as many a Mac lover will say, many of the good ideas out of Redmond originated elsewhere.

However, like you, I haven't found anything quite like Woody's. I really think there should be a Woody's convention so I can meet all of the people who have helped me so much.

Now there's a thought!

Could be a bit scary, what with Gifs and puns, etc! But yes it would be great to put a face to our fellow Loungers.

Many have helped me. I would love the opportunity to thank them personally. Also, I think a weekend or a bit more would be a fantastic learning experience. Any idea the person I need to pitch this to?

Eileen is obviously Queen of the Threadways, however I not sure that necessarily means she would have the say so on a convention. I can't think of a better starting point, though>

HA!

It's a great idea, guys - but the biggest hurdle is location, location, location.

Peter lives in Australia, 'tho he gets to the US three or four (or five or six) times a year.

I just moved to Thailand. It isn't at all certain when (and/or if) I'll be returning to the US.

You guys think we could float a convention in Phuket? It's wonderful out here - but a bit far from the Madding Crowd. It'd be kinda tough for most people to convince the boss to shell out the travel bucks....

Re: Woody's convention

I was thinking Cairns, in fact.

Five-star accomodation at the hotel I work which is, literally, a stone's throw from the Convention Centre, diving on the outer reef with a sister company, golf with another sister company. But waits there's more! ing

HA! Sure you don't mean Cannes? How I wish!

Actually, my son and I (and the two dogs we brought from Colorado) are in a rather cramped two-bedroom apartment at the moment, but we'll be moving into a fairly nice condo soon.

The five-star luxury will have to wait until my ship comes in. Many, many ships, at this point....

Phuket? With my southern accent I could get into all kinds of trouble trying to pronounce that! How long do you think it will take your ship to get to Phuket?

foo KETT.

That's the easy bit.

Try "kaw tawd krap, hong nam, yu teni krap?" (excuse my bad transliteration).

But an EXTREMELY important phrase to know in Thai.

It means "Excuse me, where is the toilet?"

And make sure you get the tones right!

The trouble is understanding the answer when they finally understand you- but it's probably too late by then.

Maybe we don't need a big convention. But there have been a few local gatherings from time to time. Now, if every lounger from Canberra were to get together, I'd be having a nice quiet drink at home.

How about a cruise around the world?? We could pick everyone up on the first go round then drop everyone off on the second!!
Now... who's going to donate the cruise ship?

Maybe we can get Billy to provide the ship, this way he can talk to some REAL Office users

Goodness me, I was just going to make a rude comment about Canberra but I checked you bio and noticed that's where you live!

I told Eileen we need the geographical location displayed with the message. (Just kidding )

But wouldn't he just declare a new World Standard for Luxury Cruise Vessels and provide a row-boat?
