    Peachtree Accounting (8.0)

Daughter has Peachtree Accounting - Educational 8.0

She keeps getting a popup error when clicking on the desktop icon to start the program.

    Btrieve Error
Max Communication Buffer Size parameter of 16384 is <64512. Please correct and restart. 'OK'

We don't know what this means or what to do. We have uninstalled/re-installed this software 2x already...and still keep getting this popup error. The program worked fine last week, but not now.

Can anyone help us? She needs this for her Business class at Business College.

    Thanks.

    Re: Peachtree Accounting (8.0)

Btrieve is a datbase prog. I believe page file and buffer errors can be caused if the program is either attempted to be started more than once, or another database prog is running.

    What happens if you reboot?
    Otherwise, what OS?

    Re: Peachtree Accounting (8.0)

Leif...I got the fix needed. Had to go to the website that handles Peachtree - can't remember what the name was... did a 'chat' with a tech there, who in turn gave me the 800# for Tech Assistant.
This Tech Assistant sent, via email to daughter's hotmail, the '.reg' needed to fix this problem. She stayed on the phone as I downloaded and installed and rebooted the '.reg'...all is fixed.
The Tech stated that sometimes this error comes up...not too many cases of it happening, but it does happen...it was an 'update' kind of thing.

BTW...rebooted previously didn't help...got the same error...so now, with the update '.reg', it is working and she can do her homework again <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>.

Thanks for your input. Appreciate it very much.
