Editing Subject Line (Outlook 2002)

How can I edit the subject line for different e-mails that are in my Outlook Inbox Window?

One by one? Just select the text (click-drag over it) and type in what you want. I do this all the time to clarify the subject. However, you can't do this with Private messages or with the Recipients fields.

Or do you want to do it in bulk?

John,
Thank you for getting back to me.
It does work if I open the e-mail and then save it. Is there some way that I can do it through or in the Inbox Window?

Sorry, Eli, not that I can find. AFAIK, you have to open an e-mail to manually make any kind of changes.

enable in-cell editing for the view and you can edit in the inbox list view. view | current view | define view | seleect view by name and press modify button... other settings button, i think.

You think right . It works like a bought one!

Thanks, Mary, as always you are correct. I personally get nervous with the "in-cell" edit view, as I worry that, as a byproduct of my general clumsiness and dreadful typing skills, I'm going to edit a message header field in error.
