    XP Home and Pro (1.0)

I'm helping a computer newbie buy a first computer. All the packages around here come with Windows XP Home. I use Windows 2000 myself so I'm not up on XP. Is there any reason she should upgrade to the Pro version. She'll be using it as a stand alone desktop computer. Using a dialup ISP although possibly switching to ADSL later. There's no chance she'll be using it on a network.

Thanks DaveA. I think you're saying she should stay with the "free" XP Home.

After reviewing BOTH sites, which ever one best suits her needs and future needs. I use the Pro on all machines except for one home version, it was a free upgrade that came with the machine. But some people do NOT need to spend the extra <img src=/S/money.gif border=0 alt=money width=17 height=15>
