    Super Audio CDs

By accident I bought a "Super Audio CD" (SACD) (a remastered copy of the Stones' Beggars Banquet). SACD is a Sony system which apparently contains the normal CD layer and also the SACD layer which apparently samples at a higher rate, and may alo encode for multichannel sound systems including home theatre 5.1 channel surround sound (I'm just learning this stuff from the link).

The CD plays fine on my car audio system, but will not read on my 15 month old Panasonic DVD player, model DVD-CV51. I lent it to someone with a Sony DVD, and naturally it plays on their system.

Has anyone had this problem, if so, got any advice (other than buy a new DVD player)?

Check with a Panasonic dealr and see if they have any firmware updates for your model. Otherwise, you're probably out of luck.
