    .wpd file extension

An employee in our office received an email with an attachment that I am unable to open. I'm not sure what type of association it needs. This is the file name: C:windowsTemporary Internet FilesOLK2F42.wpd. We have Professional Office 2000 loaded on all of our workstation. Thanks for your help.

    Re: .wpd file extension

    Hi Pam
I had a look at this site and there are three types of .wpd file extensions noted.
I don't have the tech knowledge to say how to open any of these, although pointing types 2 and 3 at WordPerfect might work. What Windows Printer Description means I haven't a clue, but I hope this posting helps in some way.
    Cheers

    Re: .wpd file extension

Pam, you should be able to open a .WPD file, if it IS a WordPerfect document file. I have Office 2000 and WordPerfect on my system and it works. You MAY have to install the ability to do that by inserting the Office installation CD and finding where those "helper" (or converter) subsets hide. I know when I installed Office 2000, I told it to install EVERYTHING.

    Re: .wpd file extension

Thanks, guys. I thought it might be word perfect. But I'm still not sure how I will open this file. I don't have word perfect as a file type on my workstation and I'm not technical enough to add it. Is that possible, if so, what do I do? Thanks.

    Re: .wpd file extension

To open the file in Word, you can try switching the File of Type drop down in the File Open dialog to All Files (*.*) and then navigate to the file.

Then select it and click open.

That may do it for you.
