    Editing HTML Email (MSO2K)

I had an HTML email sent to me that I wanted to forward, but I wanted to edit it first, and that proved to be a problem.

I could not seem to get to the source code for the fonts etc. I tried using Outlook in text format, HTML format, and then tried in Word 2000...

What am I doing wrong, not doing, or am I trying something not do-able?

Ideally, I would like to be able to open the message (or at least the text) in and HTML editor, or even notepad, and then save/send it back to the Outlook message for forwarding.

    Is this possible?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

    Re: Editing HTML Email (MSO2K)

My OL2K is set to NOT use Word as email editor, and supports the following with HTML mail:

With the cursor anywhere in the body of the message, you can insert, delete, overtype, etc.

If you right-click in the body of the message, you get the option to "View Source" in the pop-up menu, to open the source in Notepad.

If you right-click on selected text, you get edit, font, alignment, list, etc options in the pop-up menu.

Changes are saved to the original mail item before you can forward it.

    Hope that helps.

    Chuck ~

You can just hit forward and then you will be in editing mode with the ability to change the font size, color, delete and add or remove images.

if you are used to using OE and editing the raw source, outlook doesn't support that. You would need to it as stationery, edit the stationery and then send it. You can also view source, save the source and edit it- paste the rendered html into a new message.

But most people just edit it in the WYSIWYG view....

<img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15> True enough. Forgot about that - my reply/forward default is set to include the original as an attachment because most people I correspond with prefer that. And I rarely, if ever, edit forwarded content.
