    Style problem (2000)

I am having trouble when I update a table of contents. The TOC1 style has Times New Roman 11pts. When I update or insert a new table of contents the TOC1 is 30 pts Times New Roman. I have checked the attributes (pressing Shift + F1 and clicking on the text). Under the Font Formatting heading it states that there is direct formatting - Times New Roman 30pts.

Where has this come from and how can I change it so when I update the TOC it stays 11pts and not 30pts.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi. Word is probably getting the direct formatting from your entry text. If you are using tc codes, then make sure the text within the tc codes does not contain direct formatting. If you're using headings or other styles, the same applies. Instead of direct formatting the headings, modify the style so that it has the desired formatting.

    Does this link help?

Or what about the link contained in that thread?
