    Upgrading Mozilla (5)

If I install a new version of Mozilla over the top of an existing installation of Mozilla, will it keep my stored bookmarks, passwords, and so on?

    Re: Upgrading Mozilla (5)

The Mozilla folks strongly recommend installing upgrades to a fresh folder. I personally UN-INSTALL first, then delete the directory and registry references, reboot and install the upgrade. You should check your installation, but NORMALLY the profile for Mozilla with your bookmarks, mail and so on, is NOT in the Program FilesMozilla directory where the software resides. On an XP machine, the profile is usually in Documents and Settings and on a Win98 machine, it's in WindowsApplication Data. Be sure to check yours, but your profile shouldn't get deleted if you un-install the software first.
