Text File Export - formatting (MSAC2000SP-1)

    Hey Y'all,

Hope MLK Day went your way.

I'm having a problem with Fixed Width text exports. The database insists on sticking decimals to number fields and ignoring format codes when exporting from a query. I don't have the luxury of re-writing the tables, as it is not my database to re-design. Can I specify my preferences in the Schema.ini file? If so, how? The Export 'Wizard' doesn't allow for overrides of this condition.

I'm not sure how to use VBA in Access, but I do have quite a bit of experience in VBA Excel. If someone responds with VBA Code I may have to post some follow up questions. Thanks in advance for all of your generous assistance!!

    U people ROK!

If you export from a query, you can use the Format function to control the output in those fields. It isn't enough to set the display format, you actually have to create an expression using the format function.
