    Changing startpage (IE 6)

HEEELLP!! I think I'm going crazy. Ever since yesterday I do what I usually do, email etc. and all of a sudden if I click on a link to open a new window I get to: http://www.xupiter.com/toolbar2/. I have NEVER gone there and have no clue what's going on. Also, it keeps setting itself as my homepage WITHOUT me doing ANYTHING!!! It's so weird. Does anyone have a clue as of what is going on and how I can STOP it??? I have blocked the url in the Internet Options - Privacy and it still keeps doing it. Please help if you can. <img src=/S/bwaaah.gif border=0 alt=bwaaah width=123 height=15>

Start with this incredibly long thread: Xupiter (IE 6 Sp1).

Thanks for the info. And here I thought I was the only one having this problem. So, can I just delete the folder "Xupiter" in the Registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Softwear>Xupiter???? If I delete it will I be ok?? Sorry, I know that the Registry is a rather delicate place and I usually don't go there. So I just want to make sure I won't have a problem once I delete that folder including all it's contents. Thanks much, Tira

I wish I could reassure you from personal experience, but that link is pretty much all I know about the subject. Anyone else had to tackle this issue?

    Hi Tira
I think the following suggestion might help.
You could download Spybot Search and Destroy, install and run it.
Before you start a "search", click on the "Settings" button, then "File Sets" and ensure that "Hijackers.sbi" is checked (I have all selections here checked).

    Have a Great day!!!
