Cancel Hyphenation for Single Word (Word 2000 SR3)

Is it possible to turn off hyphenation for a single word without also turning it off for the entire document? There are some words that I don't want to hyphenate. I thought this was a feature of Word, but I can't seem to locate it now if it is.

    Thx.

You can't turn off hyphenation for a single word as far as I know, but you *can* for a single paragraph - the "Don't break" option (don't know the exact label in English) is in the second tab of the Format/Paragraph... dialog.

Would changing the language of that word to one that you don't have the proofing tools for achieve what is needed?

Should work. You can also select the word and choose "Don't check spelling and grammar" in the language dialog (though I think this may not be available in old versions).
