Report Sort Order (Win ME/Access 97)

I am making a simple list from a query. The query specifies ascending order, but the report ignores the sort. When I turn Order By on and specify RecDeCaja ASC (field to sort on), the report functions; however, the next time I run the report the RecDeCaja ASC has vanished. When I run the query, the sort order is respected. The query selects only field with data, and uses a parameter to choose the range of records to process. The criteria row has the following:
    <>"" And Between [Primer n

You must set the sort order in the Sorting and Grouping window: select RecDeCaja in the Field/Expression column, and Ascending in the Sort order column.

Access usually ignores any sort order set in the record source of reports, so you might as well leave your query unsorted (unless you need the sort order for this query elsewhere in the database).

The OrderBy and OrderByOn properties can be used in VBA code to change the sort order.
