    Win95 - Office cleanup

I don't know if this is the correct forum for this, but has anyone got any clues on a cleanup program after uninstalling Office 2000 or Office97?

Microsoft has a downloadable Office cleanup utility (after uninstall) called Eraser2k.

They used to also have Eraser97.

    Re: Win95 - Office cleanup

    They still do have Eraser97.
I noticed that they have 2 versions of a cleanup after A2000, CD1 and CD2.
CD2 is Utility to Completely Remove Remaining Office CD2 Files (this also removes registry entries), while CD1 is Utility to Completely Remove Remaining Office CD1 Files and Registry entries.

Which of these 2 should I be using?

    Since I have both A97 and A2K installed, do I uninstall A2K then A97 then use the Eraser2K (or Eraser2000a) then Eraser97?

I hope you can help me here. I need to do this so I can put a working version of A97 and A2K on my PC, as I still need A97 for some development work.

Thanks Bryan, I had not noticed that you had replied, I was already busy downloading all 3 eraser programs.

    Pat,

Access 2000 is on CD1, so you will need the Eraser for CD1.

I would follow the step you outlined. Uninstall O2K then O97. Then run Eraser2K CD1 and then Eraser97.

    Re: Win95 - Office cleanup

I'm not sure of the order, but would assume that since the install order for O97 and O2k is O97 1st, then O2k, uninstalling would be the reverse order ... if it matters.

If I were doing this, I'd use the control panel uninstall (Add/Remove Programs) for O2k first, then Eraser2000 (CD1 and CD2 versions if applicable). Then I'd repeat the exercise for O97.

On Eraser2000, CD1 refers to the apps installed from CD1 (Access, Excel, Front Page, Powerpoint, Word) while CD2 would be stuff like Publisher and Photodraw.

Again ... I'm not sure, but am surmising. Someone else may know for sure.

    Thanks Bryan
I will try that way and hope it works.

Thanks Dick, I won't need to run CD2 as I did not install it. Although I might run it after CD1 anyway, it should not cause any grief.
