    Marking Citation (Word 2000)

Does anyone know how to remove a cite that is incorrectly marked? I mean inside the "Mark Citation" box where the short form of the citation appears. I can delete it from there, but it does not stay deleted. So far, I am correcting the problem cites by not using a short form for them but using the full citation and then having that appear in the short form box.

Hi, Jan. The list of cites which appears in the mark citation box is built dynamically from the marked cites within your document. You need to search for and correct the erroneous ta codes.

    Re: Marking Citation (Word 2000)

    Hi Jan:
And the easiest way to do what Karen suggests is to do the following:
    1. Manually place the correct code anywhere in a document.
    a. Press Ctrl+F9
    b. Type <spacebar> XE <spacebar>"correct code goes here"
    2. Select the correct code & cut it to the clipboard (Ctrl+X).
    3. Open Find/Replace (Ctrl+H)
    4. Find: ^19 XE "incorrect code goes here"
    Replace: ^c
    5. Replace All

The Find box will find an opening field code (^19), followed by a space, XE, another space, & then your code in quotes. It will be replaced by the clipboard contents (^c), which you previously typed & cut.

    Hope this helps.
