    upgrade Offc 95 > 2K > XP? (Office XP)

Our church is running mostly old Pentium 200s and using a mix of Office 95 and Office 2000. We want to bring everyone up to running the same version of everything. Without a change in hardware and recognizing that 2000 does everything we need to do, would it be advisable to bring everyone up to XP or stick with 2000 as the gold standard? The cost will not be greatly different, so I am mainly worried about performance issues.

Without a change in hardware, you're taking chances just trying to run Office 2000 on those machines. If XP would run at all, it would be more of a crawl. <img src=/S/beep.gif border=0 alt=beep width=15 height=15>

Ummm ... a Pentium III at 133 mHz or a Pentium II at 400 mHz, depending on which paragraph you read. Clear as Microsoft.

Office 2000 runs pretty well on the systems, obsolete though they may be. Even Publisher 2002 does OK, now that we have figured out how to turn off the infernal XP indexing.
