    Docked Toolbars (2002)

I have a template with several customized toolbars. In Word 97 I was used to docking the toolbars in a certain order, and then having them stay that way every time I opened a document using that template.

In Word 2002 I am not able to do that. When I open a document using the template, the toolbars always double up as if to save space. How can I keep my toolbars docked in the same order in Word 2002?

    Thanks.

Hi, Jerry. In Word go to View / Toolbars / Customize and select the Options tab. Mark "Show standard and Formatting toolbars on two rows." This should minimize the issues you're seeing.

    Hi Jerry:
In addition to Karen's suggestion, you might also look at this article. It describes the behavior of Office programs if you're using "personalized menus". When you do, Word decides what toolbars & buttons are "best for you". More sub-intelli-sense. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Karen:

Thanks, but that's the first thing I tried, and it doesn't work.

Any other ideas. I really need to keep my toolbars separated on their own lines.
