    Re-sync from scratch

Anyone know how to force a completely clean re-sync, deleting all Outlook info in my Sony Clie and putting it all in fresh, just like the first time? Over time, and syncing at home & at work (mistake, evidently), I have duplicate entries and confused fields. My instructions don't address this, and Intellisync support gave me info that didn't address the situation like I wanted to. Is it not possible?

    Bill,

If it is Palm OS then Right Click the HotSync Manager in the System Tray on your PC and select Custom...

This will open a window that will allow you to change how you want the HotSync to operate.

Click once on Address Book and then clikc the Change... button.

Now select "Desktop overwrites Handheld" then OK.

Now do the same thing for everything you want the "start over" again with.

Now do a HotSync. The items you changed will now be identical to you desktop.

Last step is to change everything you changed back to "Syncronize the files"

    Sounds good.
Are there any files to delete in the handheld which would clear out a component of OL (address for instance) and then on sync-ing replace everything with exactly the way it is in the OL address book at the time?

Unless we are misunderstanding your question, that is exactly what Bryan's excellent instructions will do for you - if you select it for Contacts, for example, the Outlook records will overwrite everything in the Palm address book.

Thanks to both of you -- I guess I thought that under some circumstances you'd have to whack something in the Palm. An unexpected easy solution.
You have to wonder why they didn't include that in the manual.
