    Printing Unicode (IE6)

I haven't had trouble before, that I can recall, though I can't swear that I've tried printing from a Unicode webpage.
When I tried to print the UTF-8 encoded english/hebrew page at http://www.portmills.com/verbs-hebrew-utf8-1.htm
the Hebrew came out as the individual (nonsense) characters rather than the Hebrew I was viewing on the screen.
Any suggestions? [PS I have a Brother 1240 Laser printer]

    Re: Printing Unicode (IE6)

    A major fact I hadn't noticed before(!):
unicode printing problem only happens when i'm "printing a selection",
ie, when i select some text and then print. i get the hebrew fine if i print all,
or particular pages. so, does it have something to do with the standard clipboard or the like?
    any advice would be appreciated.
PS i've tested this on an XPH system with the same printer, and same results.

I can replicate your results (using a PDF print driver), but I have no explanation for it.

    Hi yerubal

I, as well, was able to duplicate your problem printing a selection (from the website you mentioned) from the clipboard.
However, and it requires an extra step or two, if you paste the selection into Word (doesn't work for me in Wordpad), you can then print it without any problem.
Must be a "print from Clipboard" thing.

A followup to my post above:

Something I often do when I want to save/print/email selections from a website (or several websites) is copy each selection then paste it into a word processor. When I've finished collecting the information, I can then easily rearrange it, reformat it, add notes, etc., then save, print or email it.

Just thought someone might find this helpful.
