Tracked Changes - Strikethrough Deletes? (XP)

    Hi,
I recently upgraded 2 computers on our network from OS 95 to OS 98 and from Office 97 to Office XP. All went well except for one small thing on just one of the computers.
When deleting something in Word while using Track Changes, the deleted words do not get marked with a strikethrough.
The deletions do show up in the Reviewing Pane feature and they will be marked with the color you chose in the options window.
I have uninstalled and re-installed and loaded SP-1 & SP-2 with no luck.
Any suggestions on how to get the strike through to work?
    Thanks - Bill

    It is possibly just a setting on the reviewing options. <img src=/S/crossfingers.gif border=0 alt=crossfingers width=17 height=16>

Select the Show > Options from the reviewing toolbar and check what is set

Marking deletions as strikethrough is a "hidden option." See Re: Tracking changes (Word 2k, XP Pro), third topic, for more info.

Afterthought: Actually, just go directly to: WOW -- WOODY's OFFICE WATCH, Vol 7 No 19, 8 May 2002 and skip down to topic "5. BRUTE-FORCE FORMATTING OF WORD 2002 DELETED TEXT"
