Blank Word doc opens for no apparent reason (Word / Outlook XP)

Have a user that called and stated that he was scrolling through a long email (left clicking, holding and dragging down) when for no apparent reason a blank, Word document opened. He did not have Word opened already, so there is no chance that he was working with a non-maximized Outlook window and somehow clicked on the Word screen behind it. And his hands were nowhere near the keyboard, so I don't think he could have hit any keyboard combo accidentally. He states that this has happened to him often, most of the time when he is scrolling through an email or IE page. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? Can you think of something he might have accidentally done with the mouse that would have caused this?

Hi, Satiria. It's probably your user's check his Outlook options. From the inbox go to Tools / Options and select the Mail Format tab. There is a box in the top of the dialog which says something to the effect of Use Microsoft Word to read Rich Text format mail -- make sure that box is not checked. Have him check the Internet options there as well...
