Hyperlinks in Outlook (Outlook 98/Windows 2000)

I have someone who is trying to send email messages with file locations, but every time he enters the file location ( example application_os ) in an email message, it turns into a hyperlink.

Any idea how to turn this feature off? I haven't found anything.

Well he could use Word as the email editor and right-click the link, then turn it off <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Sadly, I couldn't see anything that worked other than accepting the link. Other methods involve slightly misspelling the title - e.g. name (embedded space) but I assume that he wants the name correctly represented

    Andrew,

I can't believe I didn't think of using Word as the editor and turning it off there! I'm such an idiot sometimes...THANK YOU.

Maybe it's because the cure (Wordmail!) is worse than the disease?

Removing the leading should confuse Outlook into not making the path into a link.

In addition to the suggestions below, your friend could change the message format to plain text.
