Sorting in a Pivot table (XP)

I have created a pivot table (with the help of some great people in this lounge). What I need to do now is sort the results in the table by first the SLP_GRP (see attached file) ascending order and then by the Grand total (descending order). The end result that I need is a report for each group with the record ordered by the Grand total (highest number on top).

    Thanks in advance,

    Christa

I think if you switch SLP_GRP and ID around it will sort how you want. (In the wizard put SLP_GRP above the ID). I don't know if there is any other way.

I also think the table looks cleaner this way with the "combine" SLP_GRPs together and only the top one showing. You could even add a subtotal for it

That works great for sorting the data into groups, but it doesn't solve the problem of then sorting each group by the grand total in descending order. Do you know of any way to sort by the Grand total?

    Thanks,

    Christa

dbl Click on the ID field headers
    Select Advanced
Autosort change to "Descending" using field "sum of grade_text"
    <ok><ok>
Repeat for "last_first" and then for "registration_item"
Then right-click on table and select "refresh data" (though it is probably sorted okay now)
This seemed to work for me.
