    Word 97 + Excel 97 worksheet (97)


    Does any body know why I can't print the Euro sign when I use the button 'Insert MS Excel worksheet'.
    The printview shows the Euro, my monitor shows it, but several different printers don't print it?

    Hi Daphne,

    I don't know if this will help, since I've never seen the problem. Maybe, the printer is set to substitute a built-in font that lacks the Euro character for the font used in the document (although that wouldn't explain why it happens specifically for an Excel worksheet embedded in a Word document). Select Start/Settings/Printers; right-click the problem printer and select Properties from the context menu. In the Device Settings tab, locate the Font Substitution Table. Expand it, and locate the font you're using in Excel (probably Arial or Times New Roman); if it's substituted by another font, try setting it to Download As Soft Font.
