(Edited by patt on 30-Jan-03 12:22. Just reiterating that it's still crook.)
As I originally said, after I logged in I tried to click on Who's Online.
I have been away from my PC for an hour or so, and everything seems to be ok.
I just went back out of Woody's to my home page using the back button and came back into Woody's to the Microsoft Office screen and just tried the Who's Online and I get the error message again.

Back sometime ago Mum did not want us to use the back button see <post#=4280>post 4280</post#>. Now I don't know if things have changed or not, but I personally still do not use the browser back button when in the Lounge.

I must admit I'm with Legare on this one.
My problem started happening after the reinstallation of Win95.
When I logged on this morning I could go into Who's Online ok, but after looking at all the Access messages that were posted overnight I tried to go into Who's Online and I got the same error message again.
Has anyone got ideas on this one?

That's your problem right there !

Anyway, I THINK there is a timeout feature involved that will do this to you. Not sure, but I think it has happened to me after an extended idle time.

Windows 95 has IE3.0 with it. You need to upgrade your IE to 4.0 or better.

Can you be more specific about where I might find the timeout feature (bug?).

Dave
I forgot to mention that my IE is 5.5 (in fact 5.5.4134.0600).
I just tried again and got the error for the Who's Online.
What I am also finding is that even after I exit from IE and come back in, I keep getting pages that are hours old, I find if I use Ctrl-F5 I can update the page, but this is really a pain.

This used to work well once.

(Edited by patt on 31-Jan-03 10:41. Added the nb)
I presume you mean the settings in the General/Temporary Internet Files/Settings, it is set to Automatically. I have previously had it set to Every Visit to the Page.
All to no avail I'm afraid, well not afraid, more p....d off actually.

nb. Dave, I'm appreciative of your time.

Dave

What I have found interesting is that when the error comes up, all I have to do is to hit Refresh and it shows the Who's Online page successsfully.

Now I'm really confused

Pat,
Unfortunately, I can't recall just how it all came about. Reading the posts just made me remember that similar things happened to me. I just ignored them and went back to "controls" and everything seemed to clear up.
If it happens again, I will be more careful to note the actual conditions that brought it about and post it.

Viking comes from my Scandinavian background. Paternal side Swedish. Maternal side Norwegian. They say the two countries never got along with one another, but there was at least one exception.
