Sally Bun

The Sally Bun! Sigh, any other ex Victoria BC residents remember it? I've been hunting for a recipe - but no luck yet.

    Great for lunch.

    Talk to his Mum

Using a family bread recipe given to him by his mother Muriel, Todd has created a unique and delightful product that keeps customers coming back again and again.

Now I grew up (6~30 years) in Richmond. No Sally Buns but great Chinese food!

At first I thought you must mean Sally Lunn.

Funny thing is, my mum used to make a Sally Lunn that was quite different. In Yorkshire it was a bigger, ovalish 'lump' loaf with dried fruit, candied peel, sugar and extra butter in it.

They are a close mouthed lot in Victoria , but I'll see what my spies can do.

Well, actually I think the bread dough is a variation on a Sally Lunn. Taste testing is required! But it was the fillings that were sooo great and apparently limited only by the imagination of the cooks.
I'll keep you posted as to my results.

    Cheers
