    All Programs (XP PRO)

Is there a way to reorganize the All Programs list? Can programs be dragged into existing folders? Or anything like that?

    Re: All Programs (XP PRO)

When I click on All Programs, I see 50 folders (containing programs and associated files) plus 16 icons representing programs. I would like to move some of the folders into a Utility folder and move other folders into a Game folder. Can I do that?

I assume you mean to consolidate some of your start menu items?
If so, you can click on startprograms, then right click on the program you want to move, choose "move to folder". A file tree will come up and ask you where you want to move it, or if you want to create a new folder. MAke your choice and then you can continue on adding, moving or making a new folder , etc.
    Hope that's what you want.

You can also open Windows Explorer. Then open C:documents and settingsall usersstart menu. You can manipulate the icons and folders anyway you wish as long as you security permission to do so. You can do the same to C:documents and settingsYOUR LOGON IDstart menu. You can even move items from your start menu to the all users start menu or vice versa.

    Ross,
Yes this may be done, but be aware that when you move a shortcut installed by the installer, and then run the un-installer it will NOT be able to find the shortcut(s) and you will need to clean them up yourself.

Be careful, some of the links are in the AllUser folder and some are in the User's Account folder.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

The Windows Explorer method was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks
