I have struck a new problem saving PP files. When I have edited the files, and attempt to save them in the same folder and using the same file name, I receive a message:
"There was an error accessing C: etc (full path and file name)
I am forced to save under a different file name each time.
As I frequently amend the files before presentation, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Last time I saw this problem it turned out that someone had saved all their files to CD and then restored them to the hard disk, setting the Read Only attribute on them.
Try Right Clicking the file(s) in explorer and selecting Properties to see if they are Read Only.

Yes, I had checked the file attributes and they are all marked "archive". Not "read only."
The MS KB has a mystical article ( 285517) on this sort of issue with Office files, describing a problem with ActiveMovie control added to an MS VB user form- all gobblygook to me, and something I couldn't have done in my wildest excursions into Powerpoint!
