    =+ (97)

    Could someone please tell me why in a formula you would use =+ verses just = Thank You in advance!

    Doesn't matter.
    If you start with either a plus (+) or an equal (=) you are signifying to excel that you are adding a formula. If you start with a "+" excel will usually add the "=" to make "=+" since it likes formulas to start with an "=".

    As an aside to Steve's explanation, a lot of converted Lotus users were in the habit of starting non-@ function formulas with '+', so Excel assumes preceding + with =.
