    Media Player newbie needs help

I'm new to XP and MediaPlayer (I just installed the ver9 update). I have loads of .wav and .mid files on my machine including recent d/ls to the My Music folder. However, clicking on the "All Music" button in MP doesn't show all music. Should it? If not, how the heck to I select tunes to create a playlist other than scouring the drive for individual entries?

I used the "Add Folders" command and files still are not there under "All Music". Yet, if I use the "Search" feature, it finds them.

Any clues? Am I misunderstanding that All Music doesn't really mean all music?

    Thanks,
    Don

If you use the Add by Seaching Computer function rather than Add Folders, all media files should be found and added to the library.
