Stationary use (MSO 2K SR1-a)

When I receive an email that contains forwarded or 'answered' text from someone that is using Outlook Express, the stationary places a vertical solid line down the left side of the forwarded text... so if the forwarding was at the 'third level' there would be 3 vertical lines, and so on...

I have tried to duplicate this behavior in Outlook 2K, but have been unsuccessful.

Any idea how to proceed?

Regards,
Chuck Billow

Tim:

There isn't any "unbroken vertical" as a symbol choice... I've tried what you suggested before, with no result -- you can end up with a broken vertical, but not the solid line that OE is able to generate...

The "prefix" character for reply and forward is determined by the message format. Only HTML format has the unbroken vertical line (border) feature, all other formats use keyboard characters. For more info, see <!post=Post #179917,179917>Post #179917<!/post>.

Afterthought: Hey Chuck: I just noticed that you asked the question the last time. I regret to inform you that Microsoft does not appear to have added this feature in the past 5 months.

The vertical line is the result of a forwarded reply. When you reply, you will get that vertical line, but if you forward it you will not. Should you need to forward such mail with that crappy mess down the left side, there is an awesome free app called e Cleaner. You simply 'Ctrl+A' the text, 'Ctrl+V' into e Cleaner, click the smiley face, it removes the down the side and all those ">>>>>" and broken lines and automatically copies it to your clipboard to 'Ctrl+V' into your reply.

Thanks to all that responded...

Yea, I realized that I had gone looking before for this answer... wishful thinking I suppose... not really that I need or like it, but that people ask me, and I DO like knowing...

Regards to all on the board(s)
