Querying record lock details (Acc 97 sr2 on 95b)

What is involved in finding out who has locked a particular table or record? I know that this info is held in the ldb file. Is it easily extracted?

I have a request as to whether who has locked the record can be shown when someone else tries to access it. There are seven of us on our network.

If not too complicated, I would be grateful if someone could show me how.

As stated in various posts, the ldb file tells me who is logged into the database, and I have the ldb viewer utility. What I am trying to find out is which user is the operator (whoever) conflicting with? Who has that page locked? I think this seems to be areally major ask and may have to simply tell them so. And whats wrong with a 2 minute break every once in a while?

You can't do it very well without implementing Access security, since without that, everyone logs in as Admin, which doesn't tell you anything at all. If you do have security implemented, Access itself will tell you who has the record (well, in A97 it's a 2k page rather than a record) locked when the conflict occurs.

Thankyou Charlotte for your answer. As we don't use security we will have to fall back to our second choice, wait a while and then holler
