Saving many emails as files (Outlook 2000)

Hi,

Anybody know a way of setting up a rule or macro to save an email to a file when it comes from a specific person. The idea is that many emails are sent with data and we need that data in a text file so that excel can pick up these files.

Any clues.........

That's not a stock rule. There are some 3rd party utilities that do this. They run as add-ins and show up in rules as a custom action. Slipstick.com is your starting point to find one.

You don't mention what your requirements are. But Excel doesn't sound like a good fit. Did you know you can like Access to your mail folders and work with data more directly? You could use a rule to move the mail into a sub-folder and set a link to that. Just a thought...

Thanks for the info, I have looked at Slipstick.com, didn't find anything that would help, but I will look more deeply.

What I am trying to do is put the data into a formatted report for the User, there are loads of files on a weekly basis and the spreadsheet reads them into the report. The only thing they have to do is save the email, it is very time consuming for them.
