    Out of Office Assistant Exceptions

Is there a way to turn on the Out of Office Assistant and then specify that e-mail sent to a specific address NOT receive the OOA autoreplies? This is to prevent autoreplies being sent to a listserv group. (The autoreplies should go to everyone else.)

In short, need an exception to the OOA autoreply. Using Outlook 2000, Windows NT.

    Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do have a question. Do you really allow your "Out of office" replies to go outside of your office? Burglars use that to find out when you are not at home and when you will return.

I don't use it at all, at home or work. The problem was posed to me by a computer user at work.

Burglars have my e-mail address?! I suppose someday they will...

We don't use Exchange, but in the Rules Wizard you can create as many filters as you want before replying with your out-of-the-office message.

has nothing to do with them having your email. many OOFs list phone numbers and other information.

the OOFA doesn't use the normal rules wizard. I don't see any way of restricting who gets an OOF. The user could use rules but the OOF has the advantage of being server side and will ask if you want to disable it the next time you load your profile.

that said, it may not matter. a lot of admins disable OOFs to the internet.

Have you ever gotten any spam? If they have it, why not the burglers?

Hmmm... new mode of operand...spam companies hoping for OOFs then break into the homes of the ones away to tripoli for 3 weeks. (yes, some are that stupid to say where they are and for how long)

The ONLY time I used OOOA was when I retired to tell all that I would NOT be back. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 width=15 height=15>

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
