Internet Explorer - open link in new window (5.5 SP2 (I think))

Anyone seen this before - when doing a right click, open link in new window in Internet Explorer, (or when a window pops up on it own), it just gives a blank screen with the globe spinning in the corner eternally, and the page never renders. If you copy the link and paste it in the current window (or even open a new Window (Ctrl-N)), and paste in there it displays OK.

I've seen this on a few machines now and it's driving me mad, cos I can't figure out how to fix it, I've tried repairing, re-installing etc. but to no avail!

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply, didn't have a user to test it on, until yesterday. Thanks for your reply, however I found another article which resolved it: 272322: The "Open in a New Window" Command May Not Work (not linked as I got it off Technet, doesn't seem to be available on the MS support site for some reason).

    Chris ~

May I request you post the link from Technet, please?

    ms-help://MS.TechNet.2003JAN.1033/enu_kbierelease/en-us/ierelease/q272322.htm

This link will only work if you have the January 2003 English version of Technet fully installed on your PC though. I can't find the document on the web as I said in my previous post.

You didn't happen to save an HTML or text copy, did you?

    Hi, Chris ~

Thank you. This is a good article. Now why on earth would this not be present in the M$KB? This makes me wonder what other articles that are of value are in existence but not available.

I know - it doesn't make much sense. Best thing is, I got the link from a magazine column written by a head of support at Microsoft, and when I went to the web site found out that it was unavailable. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, huh?
