    Shared PST (XP & W98)

Have XP Pro on one machine, W98 on networked PC. Each has own installation of Outlook (XP & 98 repectively). Would like to link Outlook 98 to same PST as on the XP machine (Outlook 2002). I made the folder with the PST on the XP machine shareable, but still get a message from the networked W98 machine that the 98 user does not have permission to use the folder. Solution?

Are you suggesting this is a shared folder permission issue? - rather than one copy of Outlook saying it cannot open the .pst file?
If the former, can you browse to the folder in question using explorer?
If yes, do you have read and write permission for that folder set?

Also, the same PST file can not be open on two machines at the same time. When the second machine tries, you will get an error. I don't remember if it is a file permission error or not. There are some utilities for synching info between pst files. Check Slipstick: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm.
