footer in Excel (Excel 2000, SR-1)

Is it possible to set up an automatic footer that includes the file name, and and possibly the path, every time you create an excel spreadsheet?
    Thanks,
    Nancy

Before doing the following, locate your XLStart folder.

Create a new blank workbook and set it up the way you want - headers, footers, styles, whatever. Save this workbook as a template (*.xlt) named Book.xlt in your XLStart folder. Then remove all worksheets except for one sheet, and save this as a template named Sheet.xlt in the XLStart folder.
Whenever you create a blank workbook using the "New" butoon on the toolbar, or by typing Ctrl+N, Excel will make a fresh copy of Book.xlt.
Whenever you insert a new worksheet using Insert/Worksheet, Excel will insert a copy of Sheet.xlt.
