Global editing of contacts (Outlook 2002)

I have a company with four contact names. The address of the company has changed. I would like to type in the change once and have it change for all four contacts. How do I do this on Outlook 2002? I am assuming it would be some kind of a global edit.

I'm not aware that there is a global edit, but if you select the Contacts folder, then View, Current View, by Company, the companies will be grouped together, and you can enter the new name and then conveniently paste the new name individually over the name for each contact in that company.

Thanks John. We switched from an four-year old version of Maximizer to Outlook 2002 and this is the first instance in which we find the old Maximizer to be superior to Outlook. Maximizer has a global edit feature that would edit all members of the same company as one.

There is a way documented in the MS knowledgebase on support.microsoft.com The steps are a little complex and it's risky, so rather than summarize them here I suggest you do a search for article 197268. I've never tried these steps on address data and I half suspect it won't work right. But maybe that's just me...

Good man! At least I got the first few steps right.
