turning off sound in Yahoo (windowsxp)

OK a new one on me. I don't like sounds in Windows and always turn the sound off. Now for some reason in the last several days when in My Yahoo, I keep getting this burping sound when the banner pops up. I have the sound off in Windows, off in Internet Explorer, and for the life of me I can't find where My Yahoo has a sound toggle that I can turn off. I would contact Yahoo but it is difficult to find any link to customer support that works. There is nothing obvious on the configuration pages and I have to turn off the speakers to get away from this irritating sound. It seems to be something on Yahoo as I don't have it on any other web site. Does anyone have a clue?

You don't have something like Pop-Up Stopper Companion running which makes a noise every time it kills off a pop-up window....?
