Junk Email and Rules (Outlook 2000 sr1)

Is the junk e-mail filter applied before rules? I have a user that was successfully using her rules, then she setup the junk email feature and now her rules are not applied.

    thanks

Check that the rule for junk does not include "....stop processing all other rules". Alternatively move it down to be the last rule in the set. HTH

I don't see where I can check that -- my list of rules doesn't include the built-in junk mail rule.

The Outlook Junk filtering is turned on using the Organise button on the toolbar (in my OL 2000). This filtering relies on matching senders names to those you add, and in my opinion is not very workable, as spammers tend to use different spoofed names each time.
I created a spam rule and add key words as needed, such as Lose Weight, Sex etc. I have this rule as the last rule to be processed so my ordinary rules get actioned first. HTH

I understand about turning the junk mail rule on or off. What I don't understand is how to check that it does not include "stop all other rules" or whatever the previous post suggested. The junk mail rule seems to be either "on" or "off" -- I don't see anyplace to tweak the rule itself.

When you turn on Outlook Junk e-mail It "switches" on an Exception List rule. If there are names in this list then they are classified as JUnk. By default this rule is at the top of the rules list, and is applied first.
You can move this rule up or down, moving to the bottom is best. As previously mentioned I dislike the MS junk rule so turned it off and created my own, which sits as the last of the rules. HTH
