    Relationships (2000)

Okay, I'm frustrated. I would like to delete one of the fields that I put into a table but it won't let me because it is part of a relationship. Every time I delete the table from the relationship screen it pops back. Stubborn little thing! Is there a way to delete it forever?

Click on the reation line(s) drawn between the tables and the table you want to modify or delete and press the delete key to delete it. You can then edit the table. Use caution however, that when you "re-wire" the database you dont invalidate the original relations between the data or you will get error messages.

Now, you say you want to delete a field in a table. Does this field contain data? If so, recommend deleting the data first to ensure you don't invalidate your relational integrity before deleting the relation to the table.

That's where I was at. I did, Show All and then delete. When I hit show all again to make sure that it's really gone, it appears again.

You're deleting the tables rather than the relationships. Right click the line between the two tables to make sure you have the right object and then delete the relationship. Just deleting the tables from the layout doesn't affect the relationships at all.
