    Compare (2000)

Is it possible to compare two excel columns with each other? If so, what is the easiest and most efficient way. Thanks beforehand!!

to compare Col A to COl BL

    in COl C add statement:
    =A1=B1
    Copy it down the list.

    In D1 enter:
    =And(C:C)
If D1 is true, all the As = all the Bs
If D1 is FALSE, look through the list for the the "false Cs"

    Re: Compare (2000)

    In C1 put:

    =IF(A1=B1,"",1)

then fill down (double click the fill cursor). There is now a 1 in column C wherever cols A & B differ, nothing in column C where A & B are the same. You can sort on column C to see all the lines where A & B differ. If you need to take account of leading or trailing spaces you can use the TRIM function.
