    Office XP Printing (2002)

Running Office XP under Windows 2000 on LAN. Neither Excel or Access will print in Landscape. I can select Landscape in Page Setup and in Printer Setup but Print Preview and actual output is in Portrait. Printer is HP 4050.

This worked for me when I had OffXP+W2K. Suggest you look at the printer driver. Try uninstall/reinstall of driver. Then try upgrading driver to latest version - goto www.hp.com, search for HP LaserJet 4050 PostScript Driver - seems to say most recent version Release Date: 2002-01-25 Version: 4.101998_1.0.

    Re: Office XP Printing (2002)

We had a set of HP Network Printers. HP4000TN, 4050, 4100, 3200 and most gave the same joyful misprinting with landscape - sometimes intermittently! Also, the Print Preview was crazy! The view only changed orientation AFTER you printed.
Not many laser printers insist on a 9.5 cm left margin at the edge of an A4 page when printing in landscape <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> but that's what my friendly (but not for long) IT customers were subjected to. Thankfully, a visit to the excellent HP website, and subscription to printer driver advisories fixed all that.
I'm still a bit uncertain about the advisabilty of the PCL6 over PCL5e drivers, but we've changed them all to Canon Printer/Copiers now with destination mailboxes - GREAT STEP FORWARD. You send all your jobs to a mailbox on the printer, then pick a quiet moment, and go print 10-15 documents straight out - double-sided AND stapled or hole-punched.
