    Autorun (??)

Just entered the exciting world of Windows XP and, for the life of me, I can't stop all my CD-ROMS from autorunning. This may sound trivial but when you change discs in three disc drives as often as I do it becomes a major speed bump. Can anyone help?

    <IMG SRC=http://www.krymow.com/images/cd.gif> Hi, quilpole ~

Sure! Try this:<UL><LI>Open 'My Computer', right-click on the CD drive and select 'Properties'<LI>Click on the 'Auto Play' tab<LI>Under 'Select a content type...' is a box with a drop-down arrow - select the type of CD, then in the 'Actions' area beneath that, put a dot next to 'Select an action to perform:' <LI>For each type of item in the drop-down box, you will have a choice of 'Play...', 'Open folder...', 'Take no action', or other choice depending on which item you have selected<LI>Click one of those choices for each type of item, click 'Apply' and then 'OK' <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Re: Autorun (??)

    Open My Computer.
Under Devices with Removable Storage, right-click the device you want, such as a digital camera or CD-ROM drive, and then click Properties.
On the AutoPlay tab, click the multimedia content type you want to change.
Under Actions, click the action you want Windows to perform when it detects the media type you selected.
    Notes

To open My Computer, click Start, and then click My Computer.
Your removable storage device must be attached to your computer for it to appear in the My Computer folder.
<font color=blue>See the box below. Put the dot like it is in the window below , click on TAKE NO ACTION and click APPLY. You will need to do this with CD-ROM and then with CD-RW. Also do you see were it says Music Files at the top of the box? Well when you push apply like i told you above you will then need to go to the little arrow beside were it says Music Files ,Click on that little arrow and a drop down list will appear, click on each type of file you don't want to Autorun and click on TAKE NO ACTION and click APPLY </font color=blue> After you have finished click OK
