    Office 2000 SR-3 upgrade download (Office 2000 SR-1 (Win 98 SE))

Following scanning at Microsoft updates' site, downloads appropriate for my system are enabled only through combined of downloading + installing. My PC twice froze after downloading less than 2 MB, something that usually does not happen when I separately download before installing.

Please explain how to achieve downloading only (w/o installation) of an Office scanning upgrade. Thanks. James

    For WINDOWS operating systems:

    1. Connect to Windows Update website (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
    2. After "Windows Update checking.." screen changes, click "Personalize WIndows Update" on the left pane.
    3. Check the checkbox "Display the link to Windows Update Catalog" on the right pane.
    4. Click "Save Settings" button.
    5. Click "Windows Update Catalog" on the right pane.
    6. Follow the wizard on the right pane.

    For Microsoft OFFICE updates:

    1. Connect to Microsoft Office website (http://office.microsoft.com/) and click "Download Center" on the left pane OR connect to Download Center immediately (http://office.microsoft.com/Downloads/default.aspx).
    2. Choose your Office version and category(es) of downloads.

Please note that I emphasized that I am quite familiar with the approaches you suggest, but that I want to download the updates FOLLOWING SCANNING. This, for instance, reduces the SP3 update from the default size of over 13 Mb to about 8.7 Mb adapted to the setup of my PC. I want to download only that 8.7 Mb specific file and thereafter separately install it. What about that?

    Thanks, James
