    Windows installer (XP Pro)

I am running XP Pro with Office2000 on a domain with a local account. Every time I click on a packaged software program other than Office 2000 programs, a message states that windows installer wants to reinstall and asks for the office CD. I have to click "cancel" several times before I'm allowed into a program, which functions normally. How can I disable this Windows Installer behavior?

Go to START, RUN, Type in MSCONFIG and hit enter. You see box below and whats highligted click on it and remove the check mark. Push APPLY and then OK. You will then reboot for change to take effect.
Also after it reboots there may be a little box come up telling you of changes you made. If it does put a check mark were it says Don't Show Me This Message Again and Push OK

"Packaged software program" refers to any exe program that I can download and install (i.e. demo versions) from the internet. Thanks in advance!
