    Deleting Hyperlinks (Word 2000 SR-1)

I have a need to regularly copy a large table from an intranet site to Word. As part of the table formatting in Word, I need to strip out all of the many hyperlinks. I have tried search and replace but can't find a way to delete all the links in one fell swoop. Any ideas?

I believe this topic came up recently in the VBA forum. Do a search there; I bet you'll
find some code that does the trick.

If you want to replace all your hyperlinks with nothing at all:
    1. Press Alt+F9 to display field codes.
    2. Press Ctrl+H to display the Find/Replace box.
    3. Find: ^19 Hyperlink
    Replace: leave blank
    then replace all.

The ^19 finds an opening field brace. All the hyperlinks in Word start with the word "Hyperlink". So you'll only find the hyperlink fields. I confess that I'm not familiar with web pages & I'm assuming the links will start with Hyperlink.

    Cheers,

Thanks Phil. When I used your suggestion, I ended up deleting not only the hyperlink but also the text that the hyperlink was "anchored" to. What I need to do is strip the hyperlink but leave the text as plain text. Any further thoughts?

I believe that the hyperlinks are just field codes. What I have done in the past is select the text containing the hyperlinks, then press Ctrl/Shift/F9, which strips the field code, but leaves the text. It should also strip the hyperlink formatting (blue underlined text). BE AWARE that this will turn any field code in the selection to text, so if there are other field codes, you might want to select the hyperlinks individually.
